Clockfolio: Freelancer Time Tracker
Fall 2025
A group project for BET 350 with classmates Gabriel Fanian, Grace Liang, Jessica Liu, and Johann Liveta. We set out to solve a real pain point for freelancers: around 36% of the U.S. workforce freelances in some capacity, and admin work like tracking hours across multiple employers eats into the time they could be billing.
We built a customer profile around 'Alex,' a freelance graphic designer juggling several contracts, then prototyped Clockfolio: a cross-device hour tracker that automatically generates clean, professional invoices. The prototype covers onboarding, the time tracker, employer management, invoice flows, and subscription plans, anchored by a yellow + charcoal visual identity.
We validated the prototype through 10-minute usability sessions with users new to the concept. 80% found the interface intuitive without instructions, and 60% could reach a key page within 5 seconds. Feedback pushed us toward more customization, refined navigation, and protecting the app's utilitarian feel as we layered in new features.
